READING MOVIES™ - 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA - Program 1-DVD
A LIVE ACTION MOVIE ADAPATION OF THE CLASSIC BOOK BY JULES VERNE
Because everyone and especially children, loves to watch movies and will do so repeatedly, the core program of the BRAIN RETRAIN LEARNING SYSTEM is an entertaining movie produced with SFK Media’s patented ACTION CAPTIONS™ technology. Action Caption technology not only activates the cognitive elements of the brain, so that the development of both reading and spoken language skills takes place as a natural by-product of watching an entertaining movie, but also forces rapid eye movement for eye gaze intervention. Because the hippocampus and amygdala are two major structures involved in much of the brain’s learning and remembering, eye gaze interventions synchronize the activity of the two hemispheres by way of alternating stimulus. Interactive, Comprehension DVD - Program 2
This program sharpens story recall and comprehension in a fun manner. The comprehension program selects, within a pop quiz format, a beginner and advanced list of questions about Reading Movies. The student is given a choice of possible answers and if the choice is incorrect, the program asks the student to try again and again until the correct answer is chosen. When the correct answer is chosen, the program acknowledges it by going back into the movie at the exact scene where the answer is played out. GOLDEN WORDS - Vocabulary Building Words - Program 3 - DVD
The Reading Movie is specially produced using a team of educators and reading specialists who incorporate the spelling and pronunciation of several thousand vocabulary-building words. The Golden Words Program allows the student to select a word, hear it pronounced, phonetically see it spelled, and obtains several other characteristics of that word, including its part of speech, its meaning, synonyms of that word and its use in a sentence. The brain is retrained to recognize the visual appearance of a word’s graphic form, and to have that reinforced by an intimate familiarity with various aspects of that word. - back to top

Classic Animated Movie Shorts - Program 4 - DVD
Color treated for hyperactivity and concentration. This program employs the therapeutic use of light and color to decrease hyperactivity and to improve concentration and learning abilities. By color tinting entertaining black and white animated versions of classic children’s fairytales, the brain is retrained towards decreased hyperactivity and improved concentration because the alternating tints of yellow and blue are proven to balance the right and left hemispheres of the brain, while reducing anxiety and depression. - back to top

Sing and Dance Along Music Video with ACTION METRONOME - Program 5 - DVD
This program features the lively music soundtrack from the Reading Movie. Because sound is the conduit to involve the visual and primary auditory path, along with the olfactory, and especially sound as music, when integrated within the entertaining context of a movie, will increase arousal of the brain through primary auditory pathways. It is now proven that this will improve intelligence and frontal lobe function.

More important than simply listening to this program is the student’s use of it as an entertaining vehicle for aerobic exercise because, if there is one activity that seems to be the “magic bullet” against every disease or disorder, it is exercise, especially aerobic exercise. The fact is that it affects all of these systems but aerobic exercises most impact the efficient functioning of the central nervous system because of a primary effect on the brain. As we have seen, autonomic, immune, endocrine, cognitive, emotional, and sensory systems are all asymmetrically distributed in the brain. Exercise, therefore, must have a generalized effect on all brain functions. As we know, the primary source of activation of the brain is through the motor system, therefore, high frequency, low intensity activity of the motor system will have powerful effects on the global activation, arousal and attention of the cerebellum, thalamus, basal ganglia, and cerebrum. We would expect, therefore, that exercise would be helpful in improving a child’s ability to learn and control behavior and to focus attention. Lack of physical activity would be expected to cause the opposite affect.

Brain Retrain adds to the effectiveness of this program by producing it with Action Metronome (AM). The AM enhances academic & learning achievement, the ability to stay on task, to problem solve, and to optimize already existing cognitive abilities as well as to acquire & master new ones more easily.

The Action Metronome activity produces a fixed rate beat (like the music metronome). The trainee starts clapping/tapping to his beat with hands, feet, or a combination of hands and feet, in time with a tone or sound (such as a hand clap) while listening to a story being read, or while interacting with a music video of the Brain Retrain program. The goal is to hit the beat at the same time as the beat of the tone or sound. The Audio CD Reading - By Dom DeLuise Dyslexia Program Program 6 - CD
In this program, Dom DeLuise, the famed actor, presents a special audio CD book reading of the Reading Movie, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. The CD is specially modulated as it slows down certain staccato phonemes stretching out the interval between ‘b’ and ‘aach’ in “baa” for example. By listening to this book being read, the brain, and especially the dyslexic brain, is rewired to activate those areas of the brain critical for reading skills, making the brain begin to function more like those of normal readers.

Because dyslexia has to do with how fast the brain will process information, the dyslexic brain is too slow in processing all sounds, especially staccato sounds like ‘b’, ‘p’, ‘g’, and ‘d ‘, which bursts from the lips and vanishes is a few thousandth’s of a second. Elongating those phonemes actually sounds like someone shouting under water to those who are not dyslexic, but to those who are, it sounds normal, and they may be hearing the sound for the very first time. - back to top

In this program, actor Dom DeLuise presents another version of the audio CD book reading of the Reading Movie 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. This version is read normally and includes action metronome technology. With action metronome technology, a tone is added at exact second intervals throughout the reading. The student is encouraged not only to listen to the story, but to keep exact time with the tone by anticipating its return and making a finger tap with each tone.

The goal is to hit the beat at the same time as the beat of the tone or sound. Within four to six weeks, major permanent changes in brain function, motor coordination and cognitive function can be achieved. Almost immediate benefits include:
